Flooding in Thailand

Flooding in Thailand have been causing problems for us. Many people have been evacuated from the dangerous zones but some people still need some help. Thailand is not yet prepared for this sudden flood.  I've seen the news and they said that 381 people died and 2 are missing. 63 cities in Thailand are affected and 37 cities are being helped. It also affects our economy because eggs, rice, etc are getting more expensive and companies cannot give out there products because of the flood. Due to flooding, all the schools are also closed and we've been getting a whole lot of online homework. Some of my friends and relatives are also affected by this. For me, I live in Perfect Place in Minburi and there is no flooding yet but for safety, my family moved up some furnitures upstairs and bought a lot of food just in case. I feel really bad for the people who are effected because some people are trapped in their house and some people don't have any food to eat.  Many people who are effected decided to go to Pattaya and Huahin causing a lot of traffic near that road. My sister also went to the Red Cross to help package the food to donate for the victims. I hope that the flood will disappear sooner or later and for the people who are already flooded, don't give up! We are always here to support you and help you. :)

  1. Salisa, It is clear from your post that you are following flood events carefully. It's cool you are so supportive of your fellow Thais. If someone did call on you for support, what would you be willing to do? How exactly would you support others - family? friends? strangers? And since we are working on sentence types, I notice a variety used in the post, along with some missing punctuation. How might you go back and fix the sentences? BTW, I really like the wallpaper on your blog.

  2. Hi Salisa!! :)
I really liked how you organized your information! From reading your blog post, I also learned some new information that I didn't know, like the number of people missing, etc. I also agree with you with the fact that it is affecting our economy quite badly. At first, when the news started coming in about the floods, everybody was scared and fought for all kinds of food, especially eggs, bread, dry food, and frozen food. Then, when the producers produced more product on for sale, nobody bought it, because most families have already stored it in their houses. I also really liked how you said in the end, encouraging the flooded people to not give up and that we are supporting them! :)

  3. Hello Salisa!
I agree that during the flooding egg, rice and etc. are getting more expensive. And my house did the same as yours, my family moved the furnitures to the upper level and when I go to the supermarket, it was quite hard to buy thing like food because it is running out of stock. But luckily, we brought a plenty of thing that filled up 4 shopping wheel-carts. My cousin who moved to stay at Pattaya spent one and a half days traveling. I liked the ways you care for other and also how you put in other extra informations. Cool background!
